lo siento pero, not everyone can be a rapper in this world of ours...

So, I'm at Borders with my sister because I wanted a quick bite from their cafe joint before we headed out to Zumba class. Waiting for my cold beverage & munching on my lemon bar, the barrista man comes up to me & my sis and is like, "Do y'all like hip hop?" I'm just like,

oh no. not another one of those...

His stage name is Jinx. He did a track that same morning with his main mans that sings or whatever. He gets his ipod so that my sis and I can have a listen.

Knowing me, I'm the first to judge when it comes to musical ability. It's the music geek that's innate in me. So you can't blame a sister for wanting to hate off the bat! But I was in a good mood that day. I actually wanted to give this guy a shot.

Clicks play. Blasts the track at the highest volume.

First of all, the production and sound quality actually wasn't bad at all. However...the hook was way too long. Singer man just took Aaliyah's first line of the first verse in 1 in a million and changed the words up and repeated the melody for a good minute 30. Ok, ok...a slow jam for the ladies....hmm...not so much.

Jinx was a real nice dude. pero, lo siento hombre (but, I'm sorry man). Yelling over a slow jam isn't hip hop. I couldn't even decipher what your flow was dude! Like, seriously. What sound were you going for?

One thing that I've noticed that I don't really like/ don't consider hip hop. The overuse of SIMILES.

So, the summer's winding down and it's starting to hit me. I am about to be done with high school. Like, seriously done. I have like a bittersweet feeling, you know? Memories good && bad pop up from the past three years. Daydreams of the future loom over me. (yup, I'm on that poetic/philisophical/deep tip) But I feel that the past couple weeks is all a part of ending this summer with a bang. My family threw my sister a dope grad party in my house. The bro & cuzzo DJ-ed, even yours truly got on the 1s && 2s! It had good vibes, a good mix of people, and great food.! haha But peep the photos & you'll see. I even add ones of me attempting to be fly the day after. =]

Sadly, politicians on CapHill are blinded by their special interests and choose to either try to prevent or halt health care reform. By doing so, they neglect why they got elected in the first place. TO HELP THE AMERICAN PEOPLE! I mean, come on! They use their scare tactics and straight up lies to lead the ignorant astray from the truth! The fact that this whole deal is an OPTION, not something that the government is trying to shove down our throats...like how much sense does that make? Obama is too cool for that. It's the Kenyan that's in him. lol He is actually thinking about us and taking us into consideration! These frickin close minded fools that are straight up scared (&& *cough* racist) are not letting the man do his job! && it's only been 6 months.

Think about it, do you remember peeps giving Bush hell in his first 6 months in office like the madness that I see on tv everyday? I sure don't! So leave the man alone!

Everytime I see the overflow && overdose of HATERade on the news, I think of the embed you see.

hello darkness. hello sunshine. hello not at all, hello all the time.

Hello World.

The name is Antoinette Isama of the DMV. This whole blog deal has always been a gear turning in my head. Along with the encouragement of my brother and my long lost friend Shay. So, since it is the summer, and I have nothing else to do at the moment, I thought it'll be good to get this thing started. After all, I am trying to be a journalist. :-)

So, I guess I can try to explain a little further of what I want to do on TwistedPerspective. I see it as another way of expressing myself and what I think....and letting everyone else get to have a read. :-) I'm a big politics head, domestic and foreign, since I've been seeing the news on in my house for as long as I can remember. I'm a big music head, and somewhat of a music geek, lol so I listen && am open to almost all genres and unconventional sounds. Since I'm from the DMV, living close to and going to school in DC has exposed me to a significant amount of culture and trends...and I've been an observer of it.

The people I know tell me all the time that I'm on that wise tip. I'm pretty good at giving advice. So, I'm definitely going to grace the blog with Antoinette's wise words. lol :-)
