.:2010:.

New Year's Eve.
A day that we all look forward to after 12 months of good & bad times.
Everyone always talks about resolutions and such, but for me, I'm starting to run out of ideas. But here is one thing that I always try to work on every year: not being stressed out all the time! When I was younger (like I'm really that old, I'm not, but whatever.) I thought I could deal with it, but as I venture into the new year graduating from high school then moving on to college in the fall, I really need to chill for once in my life. I'm very aware about the crazy work load that will be ahead, so I just need to take strides, and breathe.
I also really need to up my game on the promotion of TwistedPerspective. I'm a newbie in the blog biz, so this trail run from August is a good thing. I just wish I knew who looked at this thing besides my brother && my dude Shay of theINcrowd.  :-) So if you are a new reader hit me up && show some love!
But overall, 2009 was pretty good. I have no complaints. I just can't believe it's been a decade. Ten years ago, I was in the second grade, and everyone was scared about y2k. :-)

Happy New Year everyone! =]
&& here's one of my favorite jams of the decade.

should a commercial really be 8-10 minutes long??

one thing i've noticed when doing my youtube findings is that the big name congolese artists continue to do their thing by getting endorsed by beer companies. and i guess thats all good...however, their commercials are straight up music videos that are wayyy too long. and i think that they're done that way on purpose. if the consumer is watching this, of course they will think that drinking skol or primus will be like a party everytime! oh the irony, peoples making mad bank off of sicing beer in their poverty stricken country. feast your eyes && excuse the wacked out bamma-fied outfits.

pending for the 3rd issue of the sabre. {Ryan Leslie's Transition}

Although Ryan Leslie has been known for his productions for other artists such as Cassie and Fabulous, Transition is the second album released within a year from the Harvard graduate. His style is inspiring and brings hope to many because he is bringing back what R&B used to be–melodic, consistent, and soulful. The album tells the story of a relationship with a mystery lady and how he pursues her.
In a sophisticated way Ryan Leslie was able to share with the listener how he genuinely feels in all aspects of the tracks on the album. For example, in “All My Love”, he expresses how much he longs for his mystery lady to trust him despite all that she has gone through in relationships of the past. Everything one hears is coming directly from him, from the bass lines to the harmonies. Ryan Leslie has stepped it up from his first self-titled album and is open to show his transition as an artist through this album. Senior Jose Barahona agrees when saying, “Ryan Leslie’s Transition is possibly one of my top three favorite R&B albums of this year. His music is very upbeat and catchy. It is something that you will be able to listen to over and over again without getting bored of it. It is just an amazing album all around. He has really stepped up his singing and producing capabilities since his freshman album.”
He refuses to succumb to the cliché ways of music, and he is continuing to be more and more respected by listeners and contemporaries alike. Many say that he should’ve taken more time on Transition, yet many still believe that he is a diamond in the rough ready to break through in a notable way as a solo artist once again.

vampire weekend rockin' it.

another band i have mad respect for. because they too, along with Fool's Gold, use west and south african music as their influence.
